Beautiful River Town, belonging to Yuanbaoshan District, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the central part of Yuanbaoshan District, east of Jianping County, Liaoning Province, across the Laoha River, south of Pingzhuang Town, west of Hongshan District, and north of Yuanbaoshan Town border. The area covers 83.64 square kilometers. As of the end of 2018, the household population was 22,673. In 1958, it was assigned to the former Chifeng City to establish a commune.In 1962, it was assigned to Chifeng County when Chifeng City and County were divided.In 1983, it was assigned to the newly established Yuanbaoshan District.In 1984, it was reorganized into the Beautiful River Township.In July 1988, it was abolished to establish a township. As of June 2020, Beautiful River Township has 7 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.
