Zhongshan District, part of Dalian, Liaoning Province, is the central urban, financial and commercial center of Dalian, located in the eastern part of the city. As of 2020, Zhongshan District has a land area of 47.41 square kilometers, a sea area of 1,443 square kilometers, and a total coastline and island shoreline length of 42.53 kilometers. It has an oceanic warm temperate monsoon climate, and as of October 2022, Zhongshan District has six streets under its jurisdiction, and in 2021, Zhongshan District had a household population of 372,600 people.
At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Zhongshan was called "Sanshanpu". In the Tang Dynasty, it was called "Qingnipu", and in November 1945, after the establishment of Dalian Municipal Government, Heizuizi District was changed to Zhongshan District.
In 2022, the GDP of Zhongshan District will be 89.552 billion yuan, with a comparable growth rate of 4%.
