A national-level specialized industrial park, established in 2007 with the approval of the National Development and Reform Commission, is located in Wafangdian City, Dalian. With a planned area of 42 square kilometers, it is China’s largest bearing industry cluster and is known as the “Bearing Capital of China.”The park focuses on developing industries such as high-end bearings, precision machinery, and smart manufacturing equipment, and is home to leading enterprises including Wafangdian Bearing Group, Schaeffler (China), Harbin Bearing Group, and SKF. The Shenyang–Dalian Expressway and the Harbin–Dalian High-Speed Railway run through the park, which is approximately a one-hour drive from Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport.By 2025, the park is expected to host more than 680 bearing and supporting enterprises, including 152 enterprises above designated size, with a total industrial output value exceeding 52 billion yuan, accounting for over 15% of the national bearing industry’s total output value.The park is home to platforms such as the National Bearing Testing Center and the Liaoning Provincial Bearing Industry Technology Innovation Alliance, and hosts 86 high-tech enterprises. It is equipped with facilities including a Bearing Industry Research Institute, talent apartments, and a standard factory building complex. The park benefits from support under the National Specialized Industrial Cluster initiative, the Liaoning Coastal Economic Belt Key Park program, and Dalian City’s special support policies for advanced manufacturing.
