Dongzhou District, Fushun City, Liaoning Province, is a district under the jurisdiction of Fushun City, Liaoning Province, is located in the southeast of Fushun City, Liaoning Province, only 50 kilometers from the capital city of Liaoning Province, Shenyang. Dongzhou District was formerly known as the "open-air area", the area because of the east and west open-pit mines and so named. 1999 August by the State Council approved the open-air area to change its name to Dongzhou District. As Dongzhou is the busiest street in the district, it also means "an oasis in the east", in addition to the Qing Dynasty, there was a garrison on the banks of the Dongzhou River called Dongzhou Fort, which is also one of the origins of the name.
