Chaoyang Township, belonging to Zhaozhou County, Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province, is located 33 kilometers southeast of Zhaozhou County, adjacent to Daqing Oil Extraction Ten Plant and Chaoyanggou Township in the east, bordering with Fuxing Township of Zhaoyuan County in the south, connected with Fengle Township and Togu Township in the west, and bordering with Erjing Township in the north. The total area of jurisdiction is 127.72 square kilometers, with a total household population of 23,460 (2018).
Chaoyang Township, originally belonged to Chapeng (formerly known as Old Sixth District).In December 1963, 12 production brigades of Chapeng, Fengle, and Togu communes were analyzed to set up Chaoyang Commune.In 1984, the commune was changed to a township.
