Mancheng District, belonging to Baoding City, Hebei Province, is located in the central part of Hebei Province, at the eastern foot of the Taihang Mountains. It lies between longitude 114°43′20″~115°32′00″E and latitude 38°43′20″~39°07′00″N; it borders Yi County in the north, Qingyuan District in the south, Shunping County in the west and Jingxiu District, Lianchi District and Xushui District in the east. The terrain is high in the northwest and low in the southeast, and the climate belongs to the warm-temperate semi-humid and semi-arid continental monsoon climate, with a total area of 6,581,800 square kilometers, and a resident population of 391,771,000 people in Mancheng District as of the end of 2022, and a development zone under the jurisdiction of Mancheng District as of June 2023, with one street, six towns, five townships, and one development zone.
Mancheng was anciently a thoroughfare to the south of Yan and north of Zhao. Local specialties include Mancheng strawberries, Mancheng mill pan persimmons, and Honggang mountain peaches. Mancheng District has been awarded the "National Advanced County of Science and Technology Progress", "Hometown of Chinese Poetry", "Hometown of Chinese Strawberries", known as "the hometown of the Golden Witch Hazel It is also known as "the hometown of the Golden Witch Hazel" and "the hometown of the millstone persimmon".
In 2022, Mancheng District will accomplish a gross regional product of 15.019 billion yuan, an increase of 3.8% over the previous year.
