Libao Town, belonging to Jingchuan County, Pingliang City, Gansu Province, is located in the northern part of Jingchuan County, at the junction of "three counties and two cities", neighboring Ning County and Sheng Town of Qingyang City in the east, Luohan Cave Township and Jingming Township in the south, bordering with Honghe Township and Shangxiaoxiang Township of Zhenyuan County in the west, and adjoining with Xiaojin Town of Xifeng District in the north. The total area of the administrative region is 113.46 square kilometers, and as of the end of 2018, the household population of Libao Town was 33,194.
Libao Town was named after Lijia Fort, which was built here during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty. In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Jincunli.Before 1949, it was first Jingyang Township, then Libao Town.After 1949, Libao District was established.In December 1996, the township was abolished and Libao Town was established. As of June 2020, Lippo Township has 17 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.
