Xiaoyang Township, belonging to Fuan City, Ningde City, Fujian Province, is located in the northwestern part of Fuan City, adjoining Shekou Township in the east, Muyun She Township in the south, Pure Pond Township of Zhouning County in the west, and Fengyang Township of Shouning County in the north. The maximum distance between the east and west of the jurisdiction is 17.1 kilometers, and the maximum distance between the north and south is 11.8 kilometers. The total area is 89.49 square kilometers.In 2018, the household population of Xiaoyang Town was 13,839. Xiaoyang Township was renamed Xiaoyang when it was established because it was located in the high mountains, where the sun could be seen very early, and there was a small basin, which was named Xiaoyang in reference to the rising sun.In October 1984, it belonged to Shekou Township.In April 1985, it was separated from Shekou Township to set up Xiaoyang Township.In April 1992, it was abolished and changed to a township. As of June 2020, Xiaoyang Township has 10 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.
