Shuangyang Town, belonging to Zhangping City, Longyan City, Fujian Province, is located in the northwestern part of Zhangping City, neighboring Xinqiao Town in the east, Nanyang Township in the south, Chishui Township in the west, and Sanming Yong'an City in the north, and is 35.5 kilometers away from Zhangping City, with a total area of 272.3 square kilometers. As of the end of 2019, Shuangyang Township had a household population of 10,892.
In the eleventh year of Zhengtong of the Ming Dynasty (1446), the East and West Ocean Inspection Department was set up here; in 1989, it was changed from Shuangyang Township to Shuangyang Town. As of June 30, 2020, Shuangyang Town has 12 administrative villages under its jurisdiction; the town's people's government is based in Chennai Village.
