Tuqiao town is located in chongqing tongliang district south of the city, the government station is the former red corps station old city dam, 10 kilometers from the city, covers an area of 525 square kilometers, the ancient name of the town of peach creek, qing qianlong four years (a.d. 1793), because of the center of the street there is a soil bridge, so change the current name. 1994 administrative area adjustment for the withdrawal of the construction of the former new bridge township, yu xiaxiang township and soil bridge township merger and the township of Tuqiao.
