Wandong Town is a civilized ancient town in Wansheng District of Chongqing with historical records. It was set up as Rongyi Town during the Xining Period of the Northern Song Dynasty, renamed Wansheng Town in the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, and then Wansheng Township after the founding of the State, which was renamed as Wandong Town in 1992. Wandong Town is located in the middle of Wansheng District, with an area of 59.9 square kilometers, 10 villages under the jurisdiction of 3 community committees, 105 agricultural cooperatives, and a population of 33,696 (of which 25,492 are agricultural).
