Wutan Town, belonging to Chongqing Jiangjin District, is located in the northern edge of Jiangjin District, east and Deguan street, oil creek town border, south and oil creek town adjacent to the west and Yongchuan District, Chen food town junction, the north and Bishan District, Sanhe Town, Guangpu Town connected to the People's Government of Jiangjin District, 32 km away from the location of the people's government of Jiangjin District, the area covers a total area of 80.81 square kilometers.
In the 33rd year of the Kangxi Emperor of the Qing Dynasty (1694), the territory of Wutan Town was Si Shan Li Jiudu three, four, six a; in June 1991, it was changed from Wutan Township to Wutan Town. As of the end of 2018, the household population of Wutan Township was 39,273. As of June 2020, Wutan Township has one community and six administrative villages under its jurisdiction, with the township's people's government residing in Baota Community.
