Tanghe Town, belonging to Chongqing Jiangjin District, is located in the western part of Jiangjin District, east and Baisha Town adjacent to the south and Sichuan Province, bordering Hejiang County, west and Shidu Town connected to the north and Baisha Town border, 65 kilometers away from the People's Government of Jiangjin District, 112 kilometers away from the Chongqing Municipal Government Residence, the area covers a total area of 61.42 square kilometers.
During the Qing Dynasty, the territory of Tanghe Town belonged to Sishanli Shidu Erjia; in December 1993, it was changed from Tanghe Township to Tanghe Town. As of the end of 2018, the household population of Tanghe Township was 17,837. As of June 2020, Tanghe Township has one community and three administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the township's people's government is located in Tanghe Field.
In 2018, Tanghe Town had 15 industrial enterprises and 12 general stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
