Shijingshan District, belonging to Beijing Municipality, is adjacent to Haidian District in the east, Fengtai District in the south, Haidian District in the north and Mentougou District in the west. It lies between 39°53′-39°59′ north latitude and 116°07′-116°14′ east longitude, with a total area of 85.74 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Shijingshan District has nine streets under its jurisdiction. As of the end of 2022, Shijingshan District had a resident population of 563,000 people.
Shijingshan, named after "Shijingshan, the first immortal mountain in Yandu", has been a historical and cultural town in western Beijing since ancient times. The area of mountains in the region accounts for 23%, and the green coverage rate of the city is 47.09%. The area of public green space per capita is 73.89 square meters, ranking first in the urban area of Beijing, and it is the area with the richest mountain and forest resources, the highest greening coverage and the most public green space per capita in the urban area of Beijing.
In 2022, Shijingshan District will realize a GDP of 100.02 billion yuan, of which the added value of the secondary industry will be 13.25 billion yuan and the added value of the tertiary industry will be 86.77 billion yuan. The industrial composition (ratio of secondary industry and tertiary industry) is 13.2:86.8. The per capita GDP of the district is 177,000 yuan based on the resident population.
