Zhuji City, Zhejiang Province, county-level city, administered by Shaoxing City, is located in the northeast of central Zhejiang Province, southwest of Shaoxing City, southeast Zhejiang Province and northwest of Zhejiang Province, the intersection of the hilly area, surrounded by mountains, between the northward opening channel basin. East neighboring Shengzhou City, south of Dongyang City, Yiwu City, Pujiang County, west of Hangzhou Tonglu County, Fuyang District, north of Keqiao District, Hangzhou Xiaoshan District. The total area is 2,311 square kilometers. As of the end of 2022, Zhuji City had a resident population of 1,219,300 people. As of June 2023, Zhuji City has 5 streets, 17 towns, and 1 township under its jurisdiction, with the municipal government stationed at No. 19, East Road, Jiyang Street. Zhuji City has a long history and a rich cultural heritage. It is the hometown of the Yue State, the hometown of Xi Shi, and the place where King Goujian of the Yue State was lying on his back. In the 25th year of Qin Shihuang (222 years ago), Zhuji County was set up and belonged to Huiji County. Zhuji is the birthplace of Yue culture. Zhuji City is located near the intersection of subtropical monsoon climate zone and temperate monsoon climate zone. Zhuji City is one of the first pilot areas of Zhejiang High-quality Development and Construction of Common Prosperity Demonstration Zone, one of the first scientific and technological cities and one of the first educational cities of Zhejiang Province, and one of the 100 counties of national comprehensive strength, one of the 100 counties of national green development, one of the 100 counties of national quality of new townships, and one of the 100 counties of national business environment. There is a national scenic spot Wunjiang Wuhui Scenic Spot, and it is China's excellent tourist city.In December 2020, the Academy of Social Sciences released the "National Top 100 Comprehensive Competitiveness of County Economies", and Zhuji was ranked 11th.In 2021, Zhuji City was shortlisted in the list of the four top 100 counties and cities, of which the national top 100 counties and cities in terms of comprehensive strength of the economy was ranked 13th. In 2022, Zhuji City realized a GDP of 165.884 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 4.6%.
