Agang Township, belonging to Luoping County, Qujing City, Yunnan Province, is located in the northwestern part of Luoping County, neighboring Jiulong Township in the east, Xiongbi Township and Zhuji Township of Shizong County in the south, Living Water Township of Luliang County in the west, Dongshan Township of Qilin District in the northwest, and Majie Township in the northeast. The total administrative area of the town is 368.59 square kilometers. As of the end of 2019, the registered population of Agang Town was 81,882.
In 1949, it was Fenggang Township, Sixth District.In 1960, it was Agang Commune.In 1984, it was changed to Agang District.In June 1988, it was changed to Agang Township.In December 2001, it was changed to Agang Township. As of June 2020, Agang Town has 2 communities and 11 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, with the town people's government stationed in Hongliangzi.
