Inmin Township, belonging to Dongchuan District, Kunming, Yunnan Province, is located in the northern part of Dongchuan District, neighboring the towns of Dragbuka and Tangdan in the east, bordering with Sheduan Township in the west and south and with Huidong County in Sichuan Province along the Jinshajiang River in the north, 98 kilometers away from the People's Government of Dongchuan District, with a total regional area of 145.16 square kilometers. As of the end of 2019, the household population of Inmin Township was 13,403.
During the Qing Dynasty, the territory of the current Inmin Township belonged to the Qiaojia Hall of Dongchuan Prefecture; in January 1988, it was changed from Inmin Commune to Inmin Township. As of June 2020, Inmin Township has 4 communities and 11 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the township people's government is based in Tianba.
