Baodi District, part of Tianjin Municipality, is located in the north of Tianjin, in the northern part of the North China Plain, at the southern foot of the Yanshan Mountains, neighboring Yutian County and Ninghe District to the east and southeast, and Ninghe District and Wuqing District to the south and southwest. West and northwest of Xianghe County, Sanhe City connected. To the north and northeast, it is separated from Jizhou District and Yutian County by a river, with a total area of 1,509 square kilometers.In 2022, Baodi District had a household population of 757,200 people and a resident population of 710,600 people. As of June 2023, Baodi District has six streets and 18 towns under its jurisdiction. The government of Baodi District is located in Baoping Street.
In the twelfth year of the Jin Dynasty (1172), Baodi County was established by dividing Xianghe County to take the meaning of "Ru Di Ru Jing" from the Book of Songs. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, it was known as "the largest county in the eastern part of the city" and "better than any other county", and in the Republic of China, it was listed as one of the eight counties in the eastern part of the country. It has a warm temperate semi-humid continental monsoon climate. The four seasons are distinct, the average annual temperature is 11.6℃, and the annual precipitation is 612.5 millimeters. It is a national agricultural product quality safety county, a national foreign trade transformation and upgrading base, and a national health city.
In 2022, the gross regional product of Baodi District was 44.412 billion yuan, basically the same as the previous year. By industry, the added value of primary industry is 4.707 billion yuan, the added value of secondary industry is 16.610 billion yuan; the added value of tertiary industry is 23.095 billion yuan, and the structure of the three industries is 10.6:37.4:52.0.
