Wang Hailou Street, belonging to Hebei District, Tianjin, is located in the southwest of Hebei District, east from the Jinzhonghe Street tunnel, north along the Jingshan Railway to the North Railway Station, and the Ningyuan Street as the boundary; south from the Lion Grove Bridge, along the Lion Grove Street to the Jinzhonghe Street tunnel, and the street of Guangfudao; west from the Lion Grove Bridge, along the east bank of the coastal river to the Jingshan Bridge, and the Red Bridge across the river; north from the Jingshan Bridge, along the Zhongshan Road to the North Railway Station with Hong Shunli Street, 1.7 kilometers from the People's Government of Hebei District, with an area of 2.25 square kilometers. As of the end of 2011, Wanghailou Street had a household population of 76,000 people.
Wanghailou Street was originally part of Wuqing County. In 1730, it was transferred to Tianjin County; in May 2000, Dongliujing Road and Xiaoguan Street were merged to form Wanghailou Street. As of June 2020, Wanghailou Street has 11 communities under its jurisdiction, with the street office located at No. 62, Xindalu, in the community of Kunpu Li.
