Hebei District, belonging to Tianjin Municipality, is one of the birthplaces and central districts of Tianjin. It is bordered by Dongli District in the east, bounded by Haihe River and North Canal in the west, and separated from Heping District, Nankai District and Hongqiao District by the river. It is adjacent to Hedong District in the south and Beichen District in the north, with a total area of 29.62 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Hebei District has 10 streets under its jurisdiction.In 2022, Hebei District had a household population of 640,400 people and a resident population of 629,400 people. The district government is located at No. 284 Shilin Street, Wanghailou Street.
Hebei District, named for its location in the north of the Haihe River, was changed to a special city of Tianjin in 1928. 1949, the district was divided into the second and third districts. 1952, the urban part of the second and third districts were merged and called the third district; 1956, it was renamed Hebei District. It is a pilot city for the construction of national urban medical consortium and a national model city for double embrace.
In 2022, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Hebei District was 38.242 billion yuan, an increase of 1.1% from 2021. Among them, the added value of secondary industry is 15.420 billion yuan, and the added value of tertiary industry is 22.822 billion yuan.
