Changshou Road Street was established on October 23, 1991, by the merger of the former Putuo Road Street and Jiaozhou Road Street, with the jurisdiction of the area under the former Putuo Road and Jiaozhou Road Street Offices.In April 2000, the street jurisdiction of Putuo District was adjusted, and the former Shiquan Street, Baidu Street, and part of Dongxin Street were merged into the jurisdiction of Changshou Road Street. Changshou Road Street is located in the southeastern part of Putuo District, the center of Shanghai, and is the only street in the city that straddles Suzhou Creek. The jurisdiction of the street extends from Zhongshan North Road in the north to Anyuan Road in the south and the border with Jing'an District, east of the Suzhou River as the border with Zhabei, and west of Wanhangdu Back Road and Changning District. The area is 3.98 square kilometers, with 31 neighborhood committees and 133,000 permanent residents. Changshou Road Street is a national advanced unit in spiritual civilization construction work.
