Liantang Town is located in the southwest of Shanghai and belongs to Qingpu District of Shanghai. The town is bordered by Xinbang Town of Songjiang District in the southeast, Shihudang Town of Songjiang District in the east, Shanghai Sun Island Tourist Resort across the Mao River in the northeast, Zhujiajiao Town of Zhu Jiajiao in the north, Jinze Town of Jinze in the northwest, Dingjie Town of Jiashan County of Zhejiang Province in the west, and Fengjing Town of Jinshan District in the south. As of 2011, Liantang Township covers an area of 92.90 square kilometers, with a household population of 21,760 households, 54,656 people and 24,047 people from Shanghai. It has 25 administrative villages and 4 communities under its jurisdiction.
