Xiaodongmen community (street) is located in the eastern part of Huangpu District, east of Huangpu River, south of Lujiabang Road, west of Yuyuan City God Temple, north of Xinkai River Bund, because of the old city hall around the city of one of the 10 gates "Xiaodongmen" named. Historically, Xiaodongmen area, densely populated, narrow roads, developed small businesses, was a place of concentration of North and South goods, workshops, agricultural and sideline product trading centers, sixteen stores was Shanghai's largest agricultural and sideline product distribution center, with the Duxing Pavilion, WanYuQuan, FengWantong, TongHanChun century-old stores such as Chinese medicine. Xiaodongmen street, after several administrative area adjustment, in 2007, the area covers an area of 2.59 square kilometers. Today Xiaodongmen, thanks to the development opportunities on both sides of the Shanghai Pujiang River, is becoming a hot spot for economic development.
