Ju (jǔ) County, part of Rizhao City, Shandong Province, is located in southeastern Shandong Province, west of Rizhao City, with an area of 1,821 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Juxian had 5 streets, 14 towns, and 1 township under its jurisdiction, as well as a development zone. As of the end of 2022, Juxian had a household population of 1,164,900. Juxian County has a long history. As early as 5,000 years ago, the ancestors of the Ju tribe flourished here. The state of Ju was once the "Hero of the Eastern Barbarians," and became a state in the Shang Dynasty, the Zhou Dynasty, and the Han Dynasty three times, with "the state of Ju in the Spring and Autumn Period, and the state of Qilu". The county was once the seat of the capital of the state of Ju during the Spring and Autumn Period, where the allusion to "Don't forget to be in Ju" took place. Ju County was established by the Qin Dynasty, with a history of more than 2,000 years, and Ju culture is known as one of Shandong's three major cultures, along with Qi culture and Lu culture. The primitive pottery writing unearthed at the Linyang River site is more than 1,500 years older than oracle bone writing, and is the originator of Chinese writing. There are many cultural relics and monuments in Judi, and Juzi's tomb and the tomb of King Chengyang are provincial key cultural relics protection units. The Juzhou Museum is one of the three largest county-level museums in Shandong Province and one of the top ten museums in Shandong Province, with a collection of more than 12,000 cultural relics, including more than 200 national cultural relics. The people of Judi are outstanding, and Liu Innocenti, the author of China's first literary commentary monograph, "Wenxin Diao Long," was a native of Dongguan Ju during the Northern and Southern Dynasties. There are 17 A-class scenic spots in the territory. In 2022, Ju County will realize a gross regional product of 45.32 billion yuan, of which the added value of the primary industry will be 5.807 billion yuan, the added value of the secondary industry will be 17.247 billion yuan, and the added value of the tertiary industry will be 22.266 billion yuan.
