The Rizhao Comprehensive Bonded Zone was established on May 31, 2018, with the approval of the State Council. It has a planned area of 2.88 square kilometers, of which the first phase covers 1.01 square kilometers of customs-controlled territory.This comprehensive bonded zone is Shandong Province’s sixth national-level comprehensive bonded zone. It is currently the special open area within China—excluding free trade zones—that offers the highest level of openness, the most preferential policies, the most comprehensive functions, and the most streamlined procedures. It serves as a pilot zone and pioneer area for the nation’s opening up of sectors such as finance, trade, investment, services, and transportation.
