Nanyang Town, belonging to Weishan County, Jining City, Shandong Province, east of Luqiao Town, two towns, south of Peixian County, Jiangsu Province, west of Yutai County border, north of Jining City, Rencheng District, the administrative area of 166.27 square kilometers.
During the Qin Dynasty, the territory of Nanyang Town belonged to Fang and County; during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it belonged to Yutai County; after the twenty-sixth year of the Republic of China (1937), it belonged to Tengxi County and Tealsan County; at the beginning of the founding of the People's Republic of China, it successively belonged to the jurisdiction of Lincheng County and Tealsan County; in August 1953, it was assigned to Weishan County; in August 1958, Nanyang Commune was established; in December 1984, it was changed to Nanyang Town; as of the end of 2018, the Nanyang Town has a household population of 32,325; as of June 2020, 34 administrative villages are under the jurisdiction of Nanyang Town; the town's people's government is located in Nanyang Village.
