Dongping County, belonging to Tai'an City, Shandong Province, is located in the southwest of Lu, west of Tai'an City. It borders Feicheng City in the east, Wenshang County and Liangshan County of Jining City in the south, Dong'a County and Yanggu County of Liaocheng City in the west across the Yellow River, Taizen County of Puyang City in Henan Province, and Pingyin County of Jinan City in the north.
