Laohu Town, belonging to Dongping County, Tai'an City, Shandong Province, is located in the central part of Dongping County, bordering Dongping Street in the east, Zhoucheng Street in the south, connecting with Old County Township in the west, and Pingyin County, Jinan City, in the north, with an area of 112.9 square kilometers in the town's administrative area. As of the end of 2019, Old Lake Township had a household population of 71,021. After 1949, it belonged to the seventh and second districts.In October 1958, it was established as Huanghuayuan Commune.In 2001, it was merged with Shuihe Township to establish Laohu Town. As of June 2020, Laohu Township has 71 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the township people's government is located in the north side of Laohu Village. In 2011, the local financial income of Laohu Township was 20.48 million yuan, an increase of 2.1 million yuan, or 12%, and the per capita net income of farmers reached 4,970 yuan.
