Dayu Town, belonging to Shehong City, Suining City, Sichuan Province, is located in the central part of Shehong City, connecting Jinhe Township and Qinggang Township in the east, Yangxi Township in the south, Taihe Township in the west across the Fuling River, and Wensheng Township and Yutai Township in the north. The area is 53.47 square kilometers, with a household population of 51,196 as of the end of 2018.
In the early Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Wuben Township. In the twenty-ninth year of the Republic of China (1940), it was set up as Dayu Township.In 1984, the commune was changed to a township.In 1992, the three townships of Fudong, Dayu, and Xiaoyu were merged to form Dayu Township.In August 2019, Yutai Township and Jinhe Township were abolished, and the administrative areas belonging to them were transferred to the jurisdiction of Dayu Township. As of June 2020, 4 communities and 28 administrative villages are under the jurisdiction of Dayu Township.
In 2018, Dayu Township had 25 industrial enterprises and 7 general stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
