In 1973, the name Hele Commune was restored.In 1983, the commune was changed to a township. As of October 2019, the former Hele Township governed 1 community, 5 administrative villages, and the township people's government was stationed in Heya Village.On December 20, 2019, Hele Township was abolished, and the administrative area it belonged to was transferred to the jurisdiction of Wangjiang Township.
