The Dazhou Eastern Economic and Technological Development Zone is situated at the heart of the Wanda-Kai border region, east of Dazhou’s main urban area. It covers a planned area of approximately 453 square kilometers, of which the directly administered area spans about 375 square kilometers. This zone encompasses Tingzi Town, Maliu Town, Fushan Town, and Anren Township, with a population of approximately 196,000. The area administered by Kaijiang County covers 78 square kilometers, with a population of approximately 59,000. [4]
The Dazhou Eastern Economic Development Zone is a high-level innovation platform strategically established by Dazhou City. It serves as the “core pillar” for Dazhou to attract advanced manufacturing and aims to become the “frontline stronghold” of the Wanda-Kaijiang-Chongqing Coordinated Development Demonstration Zone.
On December 18, 2021, the People’s Government of Sichuan Province approved the expansion of the Sichuan Kaijiang Economic Development Zone and its renaming to the Sichuan Dazhou Eastern Economic Development Zone, with steel, intelligent manufacturing, and electronic information as its leading industries.
