Faku County, part of Shenyang, Liaoning province; it is located in the north of Liaoning province, on the right bank of the Liao River and in the north of Shenyang city, connected to Xinmin city and Changwu county in the west, Dibingshan city and Tieling county in the east, Kangping county, Changtu county, and Kailuan city in the north, and across the river from the Shenbei New District in the south; it has a total area of 2,320 square kilometers. As of June 2023, Faku County has 2 streets, 12 towns, and 5 townships under its jurisdiction; in 2022, Faku County had a household population of 421,700 people.
Faku is a transliteration of the Manchu word "Yu Liang", which means abundant water and grass, beautiful mountains and rivers, and abundant crops. In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), Faku County was established; in 1993, it was transferred to Shenyang City; Faku County is a national green energy demonstration county, a national grain producing county, a national export food and agricultural products quality and safety demonstration area, a national agricultural products quality and safety county, and an e-commerce comprehensive demonstration county in rural areas;
In 2022, Faku County's gross domestic product (GDP) was 20.991 billion yuan, an increase of 1.5% over the previous year. Among them, the added value of the primary industry will be 4.905 billion yuan, the added value of the secondary industry will be 4.884 billion yuan; and the added value of the tertiary industry will be 11.202 billion yuan, an increase of 4.7%.
