The Liaohe Industrial Park in the Fakou Economic Development Zone, Liaoning Province, was established in 2006 and was incorporated into the provincial-level development zone in 2018. Currently, the park has become a new engine for the county’s economic development, with agricultural (food) processing and new energy identified as its two leading industries. In 2021, the Liaohe Industrial Park achieved an output value of 2.03 billion yuan.
The Liaohe Industrial Park is located at the southernmost tip of Fakou County, 45 kilometers from downtown Shenyang and 30 kilometers from Fakou County seat. It faces Shenbei New District across the Liao River to the south and borders Tieling to the east. The park has a planned area of 6.7 square kilometers, with 3 square kilometers already developed and constructed.The park’s infrastructure meets the “six utilities and one leveling” standard, featuring a wastewater treatment plant with a daily capacity of 20,000 tons and hosting over 80 enterprises. The park’s enterprises span industries such as feed production, food processing, equipment manufacturing, and new building materials. There are 16 agricultural product (food) production and operation enterprises in the park, distributed across the eastern part of the park. Representative enterprises include Aonong Feed, Douhua Tianbao, and Dayao Jianbin Beverages.Leveraging Fakou’s abundant agricultural resources, the Liaohe Industrial Park’s strategic location, and the existing foundation of the park’s agricultural product (food) processing industry, 1,500 mu of land has been designated in the northeast section of the park to establish the Fakou County Agricultural Product Processing Cluster. This initiative aims to build a “Northeast China Agricultural Product (Food) Processing Base,” with a focus on developing industries such as grain and oil processing (sweet corn), prepared meal processing, feed processing, beverage processing, and snack food processing.
By 2027, the zone will be developed into an agricultural processing base that serves Shenyang and extends its influence to other regions within and outside the province. It will integrate deep processing of agricultural products, agricultural product exhibitions and comprehensive services, agricultural trade and warehousing, digital agricultural services, and agricultural leisure tourism, thereby contributing to Faku County’s goal of becoming a model county for the integrated development of primary, secondary, and tertiary industries.
