Xinqiu District, part of Fuxin City, Liaoning Province, is located in the northeastern tip of Fuxin City, bordering Fuxin Mongolian Autonomous County in a ring to the east, west, south and north, and Taiping District to the southwest, with a total area of 141.7 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Xinqiu District has two streets and one town under its jurisdiction, with the district people's government stationed at No. 53-1 Xinqiu Street. According to the seventh national census data, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the resident population of Xinqiu District was 66,769 people.
In the Spring and Autumn Period, it belonged to Donghu. In September 1958, Xinqiu District was merged with neighboring villages to form Hongqi Commune; in November, Xinqiu District was separated from Hongqi Commune and merged with Xinqiu Coal Mine to form Xinqiu Commune, which was a government-enterprise joint venture; in October 1980, the People's Government of Xinqiu District was established. Xinqiu District is located in the hilly area of western Liaoning, with a temperate continental monsoon climate, five rivers in the district, and a total water resource of 11.19 million cubic meters.
In 2020, Xinqiu District is expected to realize a GDP of 1.83 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4%; a general budget revenue of 257 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4%; and fixed asset investment of 2.06 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15%.
