Fú (fù) Xin, prefecture-level city, Liaoning province, located in the middle transition zone between the Inner Mongolian Plateau and the Liaohe Plain in the southern part of northeastern China and northwestern Liaoning, the whole territory showing a long rectangle, with the terrain high in the west and low in the east, and covering a total area of 10,355 square kilometers. As of December 2023, it has jurisdiction over five districts and two counties. As of the end of 2022, the city had a total household population of 1.788 million. In 1903, Fuxin County was established by Chaoyang County in the territory of Tumet Left Banner. Fuxin City is the central city and equipment manufacturing supporting base in northwest Liaoning as approved by the State Council, and the vice-center city of Shenyang Economic Zone; it has a long history and culture, and is known as "the hometown of Jade Dragon, the beginning of civilization" due to the excavation of the world's first jade and the first dragon of China; it is the cradle of Qidan nation, and the hometown of the Wudang master Zhang Sanfeng; and the first pilot city of economic transformation of resource cities in the whole country. It is the first pilot city of economic transformation of resource cities, the national poverty alleviation reform pilot area, one of the first pilot cities of circular economy, China's excellent tourist city, the first national basketball city and provincial garden city; it has a smooth transportation environment, and the sea can be traveled through the ports of Dalian, Jinzhou, and Yingkou; the Dazheng Railway, Xinyi Railway, and Beijing-Harbin High-speed Railway, etc., pass through the territory. There are attractions such as Haizhou Temple, Ruiying Temple, Memorial Hall of the Dead Miners in Fuxin Mass Grave, Haizhou Open Pit Mine, Haitang Mountain Scenic Area and so on. In 2023, the gross regional product of Fuxin City was 60.20 billion yuan, an increase of 4.6% over the previous year.
