Jinzhou District, belonging to Dalian City, Liaoning Province, is located in the south of Liaodong Peninsula and the south-central part of Dalian City. It is part of Dalian Area of China (Liaoning) Pilot Free Trade Zone, and is co-located with Jinpu New Area and Dalian Economic and Technological Development Area. It is bordered by the Yellow Sea to the east, Ganjingzi District to the southwest, the Bohai Sea to the west, and Wafangdian City and Pulandian District to the north, with a total area of 1,480.5 square kilometers. As of July 2022, Dalian Jinzhou District has a resident population of 1.61 million. Jinzhou District has a temperate maritime monsoon climate. As of October 2021, Jinzhou District has 25 streets under its jurisdiction. The district government is located at No. 199 Jinma Road.
In the Han Dynasty, Touxian County was established, still belonging to Liaodong County.In 1987, Jin County was abolished and Jinzhou District was established. A number of highways, national and provincial trunk roads and railroads, such as Shenda Expressway, Danda Expressway, Hada High-Speed Railway, Danda Rapid Railway, etc. intersect here. It is a basic balanced county of national compulsory education development in 2013, a key city of PPP innovation work in the field of major municipal engineering in 2017, and a county to be incentivized for the work of river-long system and lake-long system in 2020.
