Xinzhou District, belongs to Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province. Is the main city of Shangrao, the city's political, economic and cultural center. Located in the northeast of Jiangxi Province, the upper reaches of the Xinjiang River. It has a total area of 339 square kilometers (including 52.6 square kilometers of Lingxi Town). As of October 2022, Xinzhou District has six streets and three towns under its jurisdiction, with Lingxi Town being administered by the Shangrao High Speed Railway Economic Pilot Zone.In 2022, Xinzhou District had a resident population of 542,600 people.
Xinzhou has a history of more than 1,800 years. It was recorded in the Taiping Huan Yu Ji of the Song Dynasty that "the name Xinzhou was given to the county by the name of Xinmei". During the Jian'an period (196-205) of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Shangrao County was set up, and in 1949, Guangping Town and part of the nearby area was set up as Shangrao City, and in 2000, the county-level Shangrao City was abolished and Xinzhou District was set up instead. It has a humid subtropical climate with abundant rainfall, mild climate, abundant sunshine and four distinct seasons. Frost-free period of about 288 days, the average annual temperature of 18.3 ℃, annual rainfall of 1954.8 mm, the annual sunshine hours of 1621.7 hours.
In 2022, the gross regional product of Xinzhou District was 41.63 billion yuan, an increase of 5.1% over the previous year. Among them, the added value of primary industry is 970 million yuan, the added value of secondary industry is 10.10 billion yuan; the added value of tertiary industry is 30.56 billion yuan, and the ratio of the structure of the three industries is 2.3:24.3:73.4.
