Chenlou Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Pizhou City, Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province, is located in the central-eastern border of the city, east and Xinyi City with the Yi River as the border, 8 kilometers away from Pizhou City, with a jurisdiction of 44.23 square kilometers. As of June 2020, Chenlou Town has 11 administrative villages and Chenlou Orchard under its jurisdiction, and the town people's government is located in Dasun Village. As of the end of 2019, the resident population of Chenlou Town was 50,900.
The town was named "Chenlou" because the town government was originally located in the territory of Chenlou Village. Chenlou Village was formed in the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty as Zhoujingzhuang, and was renamed Chenlou after the Chen family moved in and developed into a large family with buildings. At the beginning of the People's Republic of China (around 1953), it was under the jurisdiction of Pi County of Jiangsu Province. 1957, it was established as a township. 1958, it was merged into Hongqi Commune, and then separated from it. 1999, it was established as a town. Chenlou Township is crossed by the new 250 Provincial Highway (the northern extension of Nanjing Road) and 311 National Highway, and the Yi River flows alongside the town in the east. Famous attractions include the Peony Garden in Du Village.In December 2019, Chenlou Township was selected as the "2016-2018 Civilized Township of Jiangsu Province".
In 2018, the general public finance budget of Chenlou Town completed 170 million yuan, local tax revenue of 122 million yuan, fixed asset investment of 1.6 billion yuan; available financial resources of 20.66 million yuan, an increase of 15%; urban and rural residents' per capita disposable income reached 24,850 yuan, an annual increase of 9%.
