Dingshu Town, belonging to Yixing City, Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province, is located in the southeastern part of Yixing City, on the east side of Taihu Lake, south of Changxing County, Zhejiang Province, the junction with the town of Clipu, west of the town of Hubiao, north of Yicheng Street, Xinzhuang Street. The total area of jurisdiction is 192.18 square kilometers. As of the end of 2020, Dingshu Town had a household population of 145,521.
At the end of the Qing Dynasty, it was Dingshan Township and Shushan Township of Jingxi County.In 1992, Chuanbu Township was incorporated into Dingshu Township.In June 2000, Zhangze Township (in 1993, Zhangze Township was abolished and established as a township) was merged into Dapu Township.In February 2004, Fudong Township (in 1996, Qudong Township was abolished and established as a township) was merged into Dingshu Township.In April 2007, Dapu Township (Shannlin and Nanyuan villages were transferred to Yicheng Street) was merged into Dingshu Township. As of October 2021, Dingshu Township has 17 communities and 28 administrative villages under its jurisdiction. The people's government of the town is located in Dongpo Middle Road, Shushan Community.
At the end of 2020, Dingshu Township has 2,415 industrial enterprises under its jurisdiction, of which 105 are above scale, and there are 85 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of 50 square meters or more.
