Yandu District, belonging to Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province, is located in the east of central Jiangsu Province, between the Jianghuai River, the belly of the Lixia River, and the upper reaches of Xinyang Harbor. It is located between 33°07'52″~33°25'22″ north latitude and 119°40'49″~120°13'22″ east longitude. It is connected with Tinghu District of Yancheng City in the east, bordering Dafeng District of Yancheng City in the southeast corner, Xinghua City in the south across the Xingyan Boundary River, and adjoining Baoying and Jianhu counties in the northwest. Now has jurisdiction over 8 towns, 4 streets, with a total area of 1015 square kilometers. Household population of 706,500 people. Yandu District, originating from the ancient Yancheng County, has a long history.In 1983, Yancheng County was abolished and Yancheng City Suburb was set up.In 1996, Yandu County was set up.In 2004, Yandu County was abolished and Yandu District was set up.In October 2016, Yancheng City Yandu District was designated as one of the first batch of national production-city fusion demonstration districts by the National Development and Reform Commission.In November 2016, Yandu entered the second batch of the national "National Model Area of Territorial Tourism" list.
