Tanghe Township is located 23 kilometers southwest of Fengning Manchu Autonomous County, bordering with Dagge Township in the north and Beijing Biaogemen Manchu Township in the south. The total area of the township is 374.55 square kilometers. The township now has 14 administrative villages, 66 natural villages, with a resident population of 6,765 (2017), arable land area of 1,615,4 acres, per capita net income of 1,101 yuan in 2012, and a total grain output of 2,872 tons. Tanghe Township (Tanghe Xiang) is located in the southwestern part of the county, 40 kilometers from the county. The township government is located in Tanghe Village. Area of 433.4 square kilometers, population of 0.95 million (2002). There is a state-run Fugui Mountain Forestry Farm in the territory.
