Datan Town, belonging to Fengning Manchu Autonomous County, Chengde City, Hebei Province, is located in the northwest of Fengning Manchu Autonomous County, adjacent to Siqokou and Xiaobazi Townships in the east, Cudushan Township in the southeast, Sandaochuan Township of Chicheng County in the south, Changliang, Lightning River and Erdaoqu Townships of Guyuan County in the southwest, west, and northwest, and Yu'ershan Township in the northeast, with a regional area of 624.2 square kilometers, and, as of the end of 2018, the household registration population of 23,750. In April, 1914, Dushi County was transferred to Fengning County from Dushi County, and the fifth district of Hailutu was established.In January, 1959, Datan Commune was established.In September, 1984, the commune was abolished and Datan Township was re-established.In July, 1986, Datan Manchu Township was re-established.In January, 1989, three townships, namely Datan, Beiliang, and Camel Gully were merged, and the township of Datan was established. As of June 2020, Datan Town has 22 administrative villages under its jurisdiction. In 2018, Datan Town had 5 industrial enterprises and 43 general stores or supermarkets with business area over 50 square meters.
