Sand Wo Township, Fuping County, Baoding City, Hebei Province, is located in the northwest of Fuping County, east and south of Fuping Township, west of Wuwangkou Township as a neighbor, and north of Shanxi Province Lingqiu County, the jurisdiction of the maximum distance of 15 km from east to west, the maximum distance from north to south of 21 kilometers, with a total area of 231.69 square kilometers. In September 1958, it belonged to the Sand Wo Management Area of Hongqi Commune.In July 1961, it was separated and established Sand Wo Commune.In February 1984, it was changed to Sand Wo Township.On December 31, 2020, approved by the People's Government of Hebei Province, Fuping County abolished Sand Wo Township and established Sand Wo Township. As of June 2020, the former Shawo Township has 15 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the township people's government is located in Shawo Village. In 2011, the total financial income of the former Sand Wo Township was 11.286 million yuan, an increase of 1.23% over the previous year.
