Fuping County, belonging to Baoding City, Hebei Province, is located in the western part of Baoding City, at the eastern foot of the north-central part of the Taihang Mountains, at the upper reaches of the Sha River of the Daqing River system, and is the intersection of four cities and nine counties in two provinces, bordering Tang County and Quyang County in the east, Xingtang County, Pingshan County and Lingshou County in Shijiazhuang City in the south, Wutai County in Xinzhou City in the west, Fenzhi County in the northwest, Lingqiu County in Datong City in the north and Laiyuan County in the northeast of the city of Datong City in Shanxi Province. In 1193, Fuping County was established in the fourth year of the Jin Mingchang reign (1193) by annexing the northwestern part of Quyang County with Beizhen and analyzing the area of Quyang County, and it belonged to Zhending Prefecture. Fuping County is mountainous, with the terrain sloping from northwest to southeast, and is divided into deep mountainous areas and shallow mountainous areas; it belongs to the Daqing River system of the Haihe River Basin, with two main rivers, the Dasha River and the Rouge River; and it has a warm-temperate continental monsoon climate, with four distinct seasons. There are Baofu Expressway and Xifu Expressway in the territory. The main attractions include Jinchahi Border Region Revolutionary Memorial Hall, the former site of Jinchahi Military Command, Tianshengqiao National Geological (Forest) Park, etc. On February 29, 2020, Fuping County withdrew from the sequence of poor counties, and formally lifted off the "hat".
