Jingning County, belonging to Pingliang City, Gansu Province, is located in central Gansu, west of Liupan Mountains, east of Huajialing, east and north of Ningxia Lund, Xiji County border, west and south of Tongwei, Qin'an County adjoining, northwest of Huining County as a neighbor, southeast of Zhuanglang County. Jingning County is a warm temperate semi-humid semi-arid climate, with four distinct seasons, mild climate, abundant light, more precipitation in summer and less in winter and spring. It has a total area of 2,193 square kilometers, and as of the end of 2022, the resident population was 360,800 people.
The name of Jingning began in the Yuan Dynasty, set Jingning Prefecture, inherited the Song and Jin "Jingbianzhai" first word, take the meaning of calm and peaceful. Republic of fifteen years (1926), directly under the Gansu Province. 2002 June, Pingliang area was reorganized as a prefecture-level Pingliang City, Jingning County under the jurisdiction of Pingliang City. Jingning County, is a major town on the middle line of the eastern section of the ancient Silk Road, the birthplace of Fuxi, the founder of humanity, and a large agricultural county.In December 2018, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development identified it as the second batch of Advantageous Zones of Chinese Characteristic Agricultural Products. As of October 2021, Jingning County has 1 street, 17 towns and 7 townships under its jurisdiction. The county people's government is located in Chengguan Town.
In 2022, the gross regional product of Jingning County was 10.001 billion yuan, an increase of 7.7% over the previous year.
