Yongdeng, the ancient name of Lingju, Zhuanglang, belongs to Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, located in the central Gansu Province, northwest of Lanzhou City, longitude 102 ° 36' to 103 ° 45', latitude 36 ° 12' to 37 ° 07', the county covers a total area of 6090 square kilometers. It is adjacent to Gaolan County and Jingtai County of Gansu Province in the east, Minhe Hui and Tu Autonomous County of Qinghai Province in the west, Honggu District and Xigu District of Lanzhou City in the south, and Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County in the north. The longest distance from south to north is 107 kilometers, and the widest distance from west to east is 101 kilometers, with a total area of 6,090 square kilometers. According to the seventh census data, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the resident population of Yongdeng County was 285,549 people.
Yongdeng County is now under the jurisdiction of 3 townships, 12 towns, 11 communities and 200 administrative villages (of which two townships, Zhongchuan and Qinchuan, have been entrusted to the management of Lanzhou New District), with a total population of 427,800 people, of which 293,200 are agricultural, and there are mainly 18 ethnic groups, including Han, Hui, Manchu, Tibetan, Mongolian, Tu and Dongxiang, with ethnic minorities accounting for 4.5 percent of the total population.
On January 25, 2019, Yongdeng County was selected as a national "Safe Agricultural Machinery" demonstration county in 2018, and on April 28, 2019, the Gansu Provincial Government approved Yongdeng County to officially withdraw from the poverty-stricken county.
In January 2024, according to the unified accounting results of regional gross domestic product (GDP), the county's GDP in 2023 amounted to 14.44 billion yuan, calculated on the basis of the constant price, an increase of 15.1% over the previous year. Among them, the added value of primary industry is 1.57 billion yuan, up 7.1%; the added value of secondary industry is 4.98 billion yuan, up 32.2%; the added value of tertiary industry is 7.9 billion yuan, up 9.4%.
