Chashan Town, belonging to Xinyi City, Maoming City, Guangdong Province, is located in the northern mountainous area of Xinyi City, bordering with Huaixiang Town in the south, Wangsha Town in the west and Guizi Town in the north. The total area of the jurisdiction is 101.2 square kilometers. As of the end of 2019, Chashan Town has a household population of 28,792. During the Republic of China period, it was Chashan Township.In June 1961, it was divided into two communes, Pokyongdang and Chashan.In January 1963, Pokyongdang and Chashan were merged into Chashan Commune.In 1983, it was changed to Chashan District.In the winter of 1986, it was changed to Chashan Township. As of June 2020, Chashan Township has 1 community and 11 administrative villages. The people's government of the town is located in Chashan Village, Xinyi City. At the end of 2019, there were 40 general stores or supermarkets with a business area of 50 square meters or more under the jurisdiction of Chashan Township.
