Longjiang Town, belonging to Shunde District, Foshan City, Guangdong Province, is located in the western part of Shunde District, bordering Lechong Town in the north, Jiujiang Town in the east and Jiujiang Town in the South China Sea District, and adjoining Leliu Street and Xingtan Town in the southeast respectively. The district covers a total area of 73.8 square kilometers. As of the end of 2019, Longjiang Town had a resident population of 337,500, of which 109,000 were householders.
During the Ming and Qing dynasties, it belonged to Longjiang, Longshan, and Ganzhu Fortland.In February 1987, the district was abolished and established as a town. As of October 2021, Longjiang Town has 10 communities and 13 administrative villages under its jurisdiction. The town people's government is located at the intersection of Fenghua North Road and Longzhou Highway, about 50 meters to the north. Longjiang is one of the birthplaces of Lingnan agricultural and commercial culture, and is an important part of Guangfu culture.In 2018, Longjiang Town was reconfirmed as a national health county (township).On October 8, 2019, Longjiang Town was selected as one of the top 100 towns of 1,000 towns of national comprehensive strength in the year of 2019.On November 29, 2019, Longjiang Town was selected as the list of forest towns in Guangdong Province to be recognized.
In 2020, Longjiang Town will have a cumulative total industrial output value of 100 billion yuan, of which 52.6 billion yuan will be industrial output value above the scale, and the tax revenue will total 2.06 billion yuan.
