Guangming District, belonging to Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, is located in the northwestern part of Shenzhen City, east of Guanlan Street, west of Songgang Street, south of Shiyan Street, north of Dongguan City border. Guangming District under the jurisdiction of Guangming, Gongming, Xinhu, Fenghuang, Yutang, Matian six streets, the jurisdiction of a total area of 156.1 square kilometers, the district people's government in Guangming Street Square Road No. 1. As of the end of 2022, the resident population of Guangming District is 1,150,900 people. The predecessor of Guangming District, Guangming New District, was established in August 2007 as the first functional new district set up in Shenzhen.In May 2018, the State Council agreed to set up Guangming District in Shenzhen. Guangming District is an ecological high-tech industrial new city, located in the central axis of Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong development, an important node of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Corridor, and one of the core areas of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.Guangming District is home to Asia's largest pigeon breeding base, China's largest export base of fresh milk, and Guangdong's largest production base of western-style meat products. In 2022, the gross regional product of Guangming District was 142.710 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 6.5%.
