Dapeng New Area, also known as "Dapeng Peninsula", is a functional area under the jurisdiction of Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, located in the southeastern part of Shenzhen City, surrounded by the sea on three sides, bordering Daya Bay to the east and Huizhou, embracing the Dapeng Bay in the west and looking at the New Territories of Hong Kong, which is an important node of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The jurisdiction covers an area of 600 square kilometers, including a land area of 295 square kilometers, accounting for about one-sixth of Shenzhen City, a sea area of 305 square kilometers, accounting for about one-fourth of Shenzhen City, a coastline of 128 kilometers, accounting for about one-half of the city, and jurisdiction over the three offices of Kwai Chung, Dapeng and Nan'ao, with 25 communities.
Dapeng New Area is one of the earliest ancient human activities in Shenzhen, Hamtouling Neolithic site was named "2006 China's top ten new archaeological discoveries" one of the city of Dapeng is the origin of Shenzhen nickname "Pengcheng".
In 2020, the GDP of the new area will be 34.035 billion yuan, an increase of 0.2% year-on-year. Among them, the added value of the primary industry is 120 million yuan, an increase of 37.1%; the added value of the secondary industry is 20.052 billion yuan, a decrease of 4.6%; the added value of the tertiary industry is 13.864 billion yuan, an increase of 8.0%.
